Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Karl Bieg (13 September 1909 – 12 October 1993) was a highly decorated Major in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Karl Bieg was captured by American troops in May 1945, he was later handed over to British troops before being released in August 1945.
